ABOUT ME
My research is mostly application oriented between academia and industry. The aim is to bring advanced research into industry through innovation.
My research interests include vehicle communications e.g. DSRC, LTE, 5G, vehicular networks, connected vehicles, cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS), mobility data mining through vehicle and telecom data, as well as mathematical optimization methods for performance evaluation and improvement for C-ITS.
I have a broad education covering communications, signal and systems, computer networking, automatic control, operations research, etc. My master study involved the design and demonstration of a novel unmanned airborne vehicle (UAV) based ad hoc network. My PhD study was dedicated to mobile broadband (MBB) performance engineering including capacity analysis for ad hoc networks, resource planning and optimization of cellular networks (GSM, UMTS, LTE…), and design of distributed antenna systems for in-building networking. Mathematical optimization methods, e.g. integer linear programming, meta-heuristics, are the common tools that have been uesed for engineering problems.
As one of the most important and integrated part of the smart cities, future transport will be fully connected and cooperative. Despite the technology evolution, many challenges lie ahead including communications, real-time data analysis, clouds, use cases, and business innovation, among others. I believe that my research will contribute in those areas and help to accelerate the evolution of connected mobility.
